Azar Mohajer, Hamshahri, Aug.9, 2007. It is sufficient for you to stand before it and touch its short and long piles to feel the delicacy & art used in its warp & weft to learn that you are standing before a matchless exemplar of all the history of carpet. You will then be brimmed with joy and pride, let alone you know that the rug which resembles a fall-free rosary is the fruit of creativity and lovely patience and try of a compatriot of yours and is praised by many who see it.

About Boostan quoted from Hamshahri Newspaper
The men of Parliament were the last visitors of Boostan matchless rug. This week, all the nation's representatives got the opportunity to visit in the nation's house a rug which is one of the matchlessly nicest samples of carpet. Boostan was at the Parliament until Tuesday visited by all the nations representatives who also talked to its creator who has spent so many years of his life to weave and then introduce & display it, and who has still novelties in his mind.
The creator of Boostan is Isfahanan. His mother was a designer, a carpet designer from whom he learnt the profession. Ali Khodadadi spent 7 years of his life to design and weave a nice rug which is matchless in all the history of carpet. In April 1976, he started to design & decided to create an object & declare that carpet must be taken out from beneath and be watched. Approximately a year had passed before all the motifs, including beautiful flowers, birds and gazelles of the carpet were designed on paper. It was then the time for somebody (some bodies) to vivify these motifs. In 1979, 2 artist ladies started to weave the 1.50 m. x 2.30 m. rug supervised by Mr. Khodadadi. They wove silk warps and wefts into merino wool fibers the result of which suggested the creation of a matchless rug.
A rug with 3, 800,000 knots , over 20 herbal dyes and relief patterns the difference of which from all other relief patterns lies in its bulks symmetry and proportionality. Mr. Khodadadi had started to create Boostan rug aiming to add another leaf to the art history of our native land. He was thus still at the beginning and he should register a new bench mark. This was why he started a different scissors work and finish on the carpet. With his patience originated from love and enthusiasm for his profession, he has finished and scissored the wefts for 5 years & 8 months.
This finish was however different from all the finishes performed by all the world's carpet weavers. This time, Khodadad's industrious hands so imparted bulk to the wefts with the scissors and cut them in different dimensions that the result became a carpet with birds that seem to be flying, gazelles that seem to be running and delicacy & tenderness of whose feet on the grass can be observed and flowers that seem to only lack a deep breath by which to disperse their fragrance! Like any other carpet woven in our native land, the carpet woven by Khodadadi is the creation of art, love & perseverance. Khodadadi says. "In all these years, I knew that many people will once look at, and take pleasure from, it. As many professionals have stated, this carpet will demonstrate the highest rank of relief work.
We have symmetrically and proportionally established all the motifs of the carpet on its instable piles. We have so completely followed proportionalities in the motifs of birds, animals and flowers that they seem to be real with only half of them within the carpet. Up to now, many people have visited and praised Boostan.
Our supreme leader is one of the visitors. He wrote to Ali Khodadadi, „What we visited at this exhibition is one of the best manifestations of art and the most prominent efforts of creativity. We have not, for sure, seen a carpet like this. Carpet is our floor cover. We have thus looked at it with no gratitude. What you have put into these marvelous artistic objects is both art & history. I am not able to properly express my feelings on this startlingly beautiful work. Thanks for your perseverance in creating prominent works". Dr. Hossein Elahi Ghomshei wrote, „Well done the artist! He linked the carpet to the heavens and made the heavens the manifestation of beauty".
Relief work on carpet piles, yet with ( a pair of) scissors, is possible for a person who is both an Ostad in carpet design, has painted and has made many statutes. Residing in Shahreza as a member of artist men and women of our native land, Ali Khodadadi believes that the Iranians are still the king of the world's carpet and that no enthusiast for art in no where in the world can deny this fact. For this reason, he went to many places of the world with his carpet. After Boostan was exposed to the public for the 1st time in our country and in Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, we got the opportunity to display it in many of our own cities and cities of the world.
Having designed & woven such a carpet, Ali Khodadadi revived, once more, the pride of being Iranian for all the Iranians. He wove such a carpet to revitalize the Iranian weavers who will feel pride of being Iranian. He created such a work for the golden-fingers-girls of ours not to be forgotten, and for the authorities to pay due attention to this art.
Ali Khodadadi says," As soon as the fruit of my seven years of effort was exposed to the public; many people visited and took pleasure from it. It was accepted as a unique work of art in the Iranian carpet different samples. This is preciously valuable for me.
